Valencia Sostenible secures and manages funding for European projects and contributes to the development of municipal policies on climate action and the energy transition.

Climate Mission

The project enables participating cities and regions to improve their policies towards climate neutrality through knowledge sharing, the adoption of best practices and capacity building in key areas such as governance, cross-sectoral coordination, financing and monitoring. This collaboration will facilitate the development of more effective tools for designing, implementing and evaluating the Valencia Climate Agreement.

National Meeting of Green Offices 2025

More than five years after opening the first Energy Office in Valencia, and after assisting and advising thousands of people in the city on their journey towards a new energy model, we are sharing the work done and the achievements attained. We have created a space for exchanging experiences with other organizations across Spain to think together about how to keep improving.

Valencia Sostenible Forum

Valencia Sostenible Forum brings together private companies, public administrations, civil society, universities and the media with a common purpose: to promote coordinated projects that care for the environment and increase our resilience to adverse weather phenomena.

CLR: NEST

CLR promotes a sustainable energy system and citizen empowerment to carry out energy renovations in buildings and homes through energy communities. València Sostenible will offer support, advice and assistance services so that energy communities, collective renovation groups (CLRs) and residents can carry out energy renovation projects successfully.

EnerCmed

EnerCmed aims to develop and test an innovative integrated solution combining “energy communities, nature-based solutions and energy poverty alleviation”.

Climate Shelters

Valencia City Council has created a municipal network of climate shelters to help address the impacts caused by repeated heatwaves.

COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATION OFFICE – Oficina de l’Energia

València Sostenible manages the Energy Office – OTC (Community Transformation Office) project, which has been selected by IDAE as a beneficiary under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

My Green Neighbourhood

My Green Neighbourhood is a project run by the Fundació València Clima i Energia to promote environmental sustainability through the active participation of local residents and community groups, creating spaces for community gatherings and highlighting the importance of citizen-led initiatives for an effective ecological transition. The project aims to bring local residents together, encouraging them to get involved in identifying needs and specific actions to bring about a positive and lasting transformation of their local areas.

WELLBASED

WELLBASED aimed to design, implement and evaluate a plan to reduce energy poverty and its impact on the health and well-being of vulnerable people in Valencia. To this end, interventions were carried out in vulnerable households, collecting and analysing energy- and health-related indicators. The project enabled the establishment of public policies that addressed the structural problem of energy poverty and upheld citizens' right to energy.

Mi Barrio Verde

Mi barrio verde es un proyecto de la Fundació València Clima i Energia para la promoción de la sostenibilidad ambiental, mediante la participación activa de las personas y las asociaciones del barrio, creando espacios de encuentro comunitarios y poniendo en valor las acciones ciudadanas para una transición ecológica efectiva. El proyecto pretende conectar a los vecinos y vecinas, incentivando su implicación en la detección de necesidades y acciones concretas para una transformación positiva y duradera de sus entornos.

Distender

DISTENDER aimed to generate decision-support mechanisms for addressing climate change, integrating adaptation and mitigation strategies, through the collaboration of scientists, businesses, governments, policymakers and citizens.

Power Up

POWER UP! made it possible for households in energy poverty to benefit from local renewable energy production and energy efficiency measures, without having to bear the necessary upfront investment costs.

Feel – Frugal cities through Energy Efficiency and Low-tech communities

The Interreg FEEL project tests and develops the Frugal City approach in 8 European cities and regions.

Covenant of mayors

Valencia has been a signatory city of the Covenant of Mayors since 2009, and València Sostenible has been a supporting entity of the Covenant since 2022. In June 2022, the Covenant of Mayors selected València Sostenible to take part in its peer-learning exchange programme with other European cities and regions, called the Expert Mission Peer Learning Programme.

Ebento

The EBENTO project improved energy efficiency in buildings through the development of an integrated one-stop-shop platform.

Cities for sustainability governance

The project aimed to position sustainability at the centre of cities' governance processes and models. Participating cities exchanged learnings and experiences, engaging in collective training on how to improve the development and implementation of sustainability policies and projects.
