Climate Mission
In April 2023, Valencia submitted its Climate City Contract (CCC) to the European Commission, which assessed it favourably and, in October 2023, awarded the city the Mission Label. This label recognises the commitments and the robustness of the work plan submitted by the city.
In February 2026, the city submitted its first update to the CCC, with the aim of reinforcing its commitments, aligning the city’s priorities with the objectives of the European Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission and the Adaptation Mission, incorporating contributions from organisations within the Valencia Sustainable Forum and, more generally, serving as a basis for monitoring and evaluating progress achieved to date.
As a result of the first phase of work by the Valencia Sustainable Forum, Annex I of this first iteration contains contributions from the Forum’s organisations to the city’s Climate Action Plan, as well as action sheets from the Forum’s own organisations, in addition to those already compiled by the City Council.
Furthermore, Annex III defines the Valencia Sustainable Forum as a multi-sectoral platform designed to facilitate cooperation and synergies amongst organisations across the five pillars of the sustainability ecosystem, as well as to collate projects and commitments from these organisations.
