Valencia has been a signatory city of the Covenant of Mayors since 2009, and València Sostenible has been a supporting entity of the Covenant since 2022. In June 2022, the Covenant of Mayors selected València Sostenible to take part in its peer-exchange programme with other European cities and regions, called the Expert Mission Peer Learning Programme.

Specifically, an exchange took place between València Sostenible and the Center for Renewable Energy Sources (CRES) of Greece, on the Climate Mission and how cities were defining long-term decarbonisation strategies in a participatory way with other city entities, seeking political consensus and building alliances with citizens, organisations and other public administrations. In addition to CRES, the exchange also involved the 6 Greek cities selected under the European Mission: Athens, Ioannina, Kalamata, Kozani, Thessaloniki and Trikala.
