Save the Homes
The SAVE THE HOMES project aims to help increase the city’s housing renovation rate by implementing the ‘one-stop shop’ concept – an integrated housing renovation service that offers local, trustworthy support to property owners.
València Sostenible is focusing this project on the Energy Office, which is acting as a pilot for this one-stop shop service for energy-efficient refurbishment, offering free, high-quality advice throughout the entire refurbishment process:
- Information and awareness-raising: offering training workshops, advisory appointments, and practical guides and documentation.
- Preliminary design of the renovation: providing lists of contractors, preliminary cost and savings estimates for different renovation options, personalised analyses of grants and subsidies, and meetings for owners’ associations.
- Hiring professionals to plan and carry out the project: offering support in comparing quotes and advice on finding financing solutions.
- Supervision during the renovation work: providing answers to queries and examples of other renovation projects.
- Evaluation of results and continuous improvement: offering training workshops on other topics, measuring the results achieved and highlighting successful case studies.
In addition, València Sostenible has set up the Citizens’ School for Energy-Efficient Renovation, comprising a group of property owners interested in renovating their homes or buildings. The group enables participants to: keep up to date with the latest information from the renovation sector; stay informed about relevant news such as grants and financial assistance; share information with others about their experiences, advice or recommendations for companies; and visit renovated buildings or homes for inspiration.
